In Road and Railway Construction Projects

In road or railway construction projects in mountainous or semi-mountainous terrains, earthwork (cut, fill and haul), bridges, tunnels, retaining walls and road surfaces (sub-base, base, asphalt layers or cement) comprise the main part of the cost.

Excluding the fixed elements of a project such as predesigned main interchanges or stations, all other actions and construction subjects and structures are completely sensitive to the Corridor Geometry.

By means of our system which runs on mainframes or grid processing environments with hundreds of CPU cores, our team can process your project data to find alternative corridors that not only satisfy the design criteria, but also lead to lower construction costs.

While designing alternative corridors, the system may reduce the cut and fill values which also directly affect the amount of haul operation. It also considers geometries which need fewer bridges and fewer tunnels. The length of the corridor is also important to the system due to amount of linear elements such as surface material, affecting the total cost. Although all costly elements are subject to reduction, lowering the total cost is the main goal.
